What should I write about? Something big. Something important.
This past week, my husband and I put the down payment on our house. (We've been living in his grandma's house and are now buying it.) Yes, that is something big, something important.
Now that we are homeowners, we are starting to tackle the things on our "wish list."
First up, my craft room.
The craft room was my husband's aunts room growing up and had been powdery pink for sixty years. He said I could paint it whatever color I wanted and I picked yellow. For most people (including my husband's grandma) this shade of yellow is obscene. I think it's bright and cheery. I also picked gray for the accent color for the built in shelving and the desk. I love yellow and gray together.

After
As I stressed over what to write for this monumental (to me) post, it made sense that I'd write about my new space for crafting and art making. I'm blessed to have a husband that encourages me to be creative and make things by hand. I'm also blessed with a husband who wanted me to have my own craft room; Amen to that!
I am thankful for all the people in my life who encourage me (and to those who've even commissioned me to make things for them!) I am thankful for this house that we've been given and I'm thankful for this new little space to make beautiful things in.

Love it Colleen! Do I get an advantage for being the first one to comment? ; ) My favorite craft/hobby is probably reading about yours! Seriously though, I wish I were as crafty as you. I do enjoy baking and the little bit of canning that I've done. Hey, remember that time in college when we accidentally made garlic french toast?
I love baking- cookies and bars especially. I take them into the office at work and they're always gone by the afternoon! Lately I've been getting into baking with alternative flours, such as tapioca flour or almond flour.
Congrats on your home ownership! Great blog. -Gabriel
I guess I don't always read the directions. Colleen was quick to inform me that entry was invalid unless I named my favorite craft or hobby. So my craft would be working with leather. I made some small leather bags to hold special items for Christmas presents one year. By the way, Marlene had a lengthy entry, but couldn't submit it because she didn't have an account. She thought that was stupid. So this comment should count for Marlene, since she tried.
I like to write songs and garden for wildlife. Mom got me The National Wildlife Federation's Guide to Gardening for Wildlife (Craig Tufts and Peter Loewer)
for Christmas years ago. Love that. Miss her. --Chris Pitonyak
Since I'm up to my ears in chocolate that would have to b my current "hobby"
The winner of the cinnamon swirl bread is Deb Horst! Congratulations!! Thank you all for entering and sharing your hobbies and interests :)
